How to get French dictionary in international 6.0 version?

I see that this international version for vsspell 6.0 included
    a Spanish dictionary file.
How can I obtain a French dictionary file?
When you are using the Dictutil.exe and Thesutil.exe what
does the Dictionary Options, Language dropdown really do for
    me when I select French?

    Hello Chris,

Please note that you may install the vsspell setup, this should create
    asp_fr.dct file in system32.

    Regards,
    Allen

09/20/05 - In reference to the "asp_fr.dct" file: It does not appear to be installed on my pc. I checked the install.log and saw the other dictionary files, but none for French and no asp_fr.dct. Are you sure that was part of the 6.0 or do I need to upgrade to the 8.0 just to get a French dictionary. I find it strange that the controls have properties that you can set to French, but it comes with a Spanish dictionary and not a French one.

    Thank you for your help.

Thanks for the information Allen. I kind of thought that would be the answer. This is for a client, so I guess I'll just have to see what the upgrade to 8.0 costs (since it apparently has a French dictionary) compared to the cost they would pay a translator to create a custom dictionary. From what I see on this newsgroup, it appears that the main dictionaries run a lot faster than the custom dictionaries. So it's probably smarter to upgrade.

    Thank you for your help.

    Hello Chris

In this case, you may use a custom dictionary with french text.

    Regards,
    Allen

    Hello Chris,

You may test it by downloading the evaluation copy of the VSSpell 8 from the
    link below

I downloaded the evaluation copy and then proceeded to call the company to see if version 8.0 has a French dictionary file. It turns out that it does NOT have a French dictionary file. The technical support person I spoke to said the only solution would be to use a custom dictionary for either the 6.0 or 8.0 versions.

I guess I need to find someone who has already created a French dictionary. If you know of one, please contact me.

    Thank you.

Here is a french dictionary file for VSSpell 8 if anyone is looking for one.

    To use it:
    1) Unzip it to C:Windows\System32
    2) Add this line of code to your app: VSSpell1.MainDictFile = "Vssp_fr.DCT"
