I have a seriouse business request from our user regarding the C1WebNumericEdit as well as other WebInput controls including Date and masked input. To make things simpler, I use C1WebNumericEdit as an example.

Our business user said, for any field that required entry of number (say integer) should allow two states.

1. No entry ( no number, don't know or clear existing number entered). This should display empty cell or "Enter a numeric value" if you enable nulltext. No entry is a must have state that means "I am not comfortable to enter any number before I know it is correct"

2. a valid number. In this case, all validation rules including min, max, decimal place etc should apply.

Right now, C1WebNumericEdit has no state of "No entry" and our user can not accept that "Enter 0 means no value" because 0 is a known number. Because of that, we are thinking drop using C1WebNumericEdit as well as other C1 Input controls that don't allow no entry as an option.

I am not sure, ComponentOne has sesiously thinking about business users feedback and how to interpret the technical solution to be acceptable by business world. I could be wrong, if I don't know how to set "No entry" state, if anyone can help, I would be very thankful.
