    Information Requested - HTML Help

Hello.  I am currently using D2H 7 to produce both winhelp and html help.  My current version is old (7.0.0.142).  I am looking at purchasing D2H 2008.  I have a few questions:   Do I need an html editor to produce the html help files?  What would the editor do for me?  If I need an editor which one would I use?

Also for the html files which is the best route to go - the application is web based.  Currently I use Word to edit the files and select the html 4.0 target to compile.  I will probably look at using the html help target in the future.  Any information would be most helpful.  I have been wroking with D2H for many years but only just recentlys tarted using html.

    Hello Lindi,

with D2H2008 you can continue to work with Word, no matter what target you want to create. Word 2000, 2002, 2003 and 2007 are supported by the current D2H version. Of course, if you want to edit HTML, it's best to have MS FrontPage or Adobe DreamWeaver, because for these you have a D2H toolbar in the editor. This might be helpful when using D2H functions in the sources.

The target HTML 4.0 has been replaced by NetHelp since D2H2005. I recommend to generate NetHelp for web based application: it is browser and platform independent, uses the same contextIDs as WinHelp and HTML Help, and is the most customizable target format.
