C1Spell not working in Client machine

    Hi,

We are using C1Spell in a desktop VB application. It is working fine in all the development PC's where component one is installed. However it is not throwing spell checker dialogue box in client machine. In the client installer we are including - C1.Win.C1Spell.2.DLL.  I have tried couple of other options like placing license file in the client m/c or placing dictionary file DictUtil.exe in WINDOWS\SYSTEM32 but neither worked. Any addtional help in this regard will be appreciated.

Another surprising thing is that in the same application we are using the C1.Win.C1FlexGrid.2.DLL and it is working just fine. No problem with that.

Let me know if anyone has suggestion.

    Thanks & Regards

    Subrata Sarkar

    Hi,

try to put *.dct files of C1Spell to Windows\System32 folder. If this does not help, create SpellError event handler and examine error description there.

    Sergey.

Just wanted to say I was having the same issue here. Copying the *.dct files to the client computers \system32 directory does the trick.

Thanks sergey, it is working now. However I got another problem. Accedentally I have added "test" in the custom dictionary string array to check whether that feature is working or not. Now though I removed "test" every where it is still showing in spell checker dropdown as an option. Can you help me to remove it, I have searched everywhere in the application to make sure that we are not hard coding it anywhere, but it is still showing.

    Hi,

guess the word "test" exists in the ..dct file used by your application. For example, c1sp_ae.dct file has it.
