    Re: Reference Error.

    Hi,

To open the *.htm files in Doc-To-Help we require HTML editor that can read the .htm file (like Microsoft Frontpage, dreamweaver or notepad or Microsoft Office Publisher etc) and do the specific changes in the .htm file. If by default the .htm files are getting opened in Word and we are inserting the images or graphics in the file then by default Doc-To-Help will add a reference tag to the link and this reference tag will start looking for the files with an extension *.mso and finally at the compilation time we will get an error message with reference to the .mso file which has nothing to do with Doc-To-Help.

In order to resolve this problem we need to open the *.htm files in Doc-To-Help in either Microsoft FrontPage and if the FrontPage is not installed on the machine then we can use the Microsoft Office Publisher (which comes in the Default package of Microsoft office.

In order to make FrontPage or Office publisher as the default HTML editor in Doc-To-Help please follow the steps mentioned below:

    1.       Open the project screen in Doc-To-Help

    2.       From the Tools menu select options from the dropdown.

    3.       In the options window select HTML Editors tab.

    4.       From the list of the available HTML editor select the required HTML editor (e.g. Microsoft office Publisher) and click on “Set Default” button.

    5.       Click on the ok Button. Now open the *htm file it should now open up in Office Publisher. Now you can insert the graphics in the file.

    6.       Save and close the *.htm file and rebuild the project (Build|Rebuild).

    I hope this helps.

    Have a nice day.

    Regards,

    Andrew Miller
