    Licensing Problem

    Hello,

i have installed ComponentOne Studio and licensed it. I have Visual Studio 2005 and visual studio 2008 installed. There was no problem with the WebChart for ASP.NET component.iI have launch Live update which has updated the component from 2.0.20073.17282 to 2.0.20081.18045 and now i have the unlicensed box who appear each time.

I have this problem on the two visual studio version. Try all the solution give on this forum (delete license.licx and rebuild, create new project add component and transfer license to VS2008 project, etc..) and no one works on visual studio 2005 or visual studio 2008. Have you an idea to get this working ?

     Thanks,

    Re: Licensing Problem

    Hi,

You should make sure that your license is valid for 20081 controls. Also, you should check the license.licx file to make sure that it is listing the correct version of WebChart.

    Thanks!

    Hi,

my license is valid for 20081. we have buy it last week. The problem for license.licx is how can i see the correct version ? even under visual studio 2005 if i delete the license and the license dll and rebuild , the same.I have create a new project under VS2005, put the control on page, the registration box appears, the information inside the register box is present and good. try to build, the same. Update license, with the component one live update link, the same.Use the license addin for VS2005 : the same.

    Re: Licensing Problem

    Hi spinceloup,

I am not sure that I am understanding your problem correctly. If you are rebuilding the project in VS2005 after deleting the license.licx file then everything should work correctly. Did you update your license on your machine? (When you see the registration box you should see "this product is licensed to...")

What component and version are you using? If you are using a 2008v1 or v2 component then you are likely running into activation issues with your new license. You will need to get the C1Licensing.exe file here http://prerelease.componentone.com/dotnet20/c1licensing/2008-t2/C1Licensing2_2.0.20082.6.zip and place it in your bin folder - the bin folder is usually here: C:\Program Files\ComponentOne Studio.NET 2.0\bin (or .Net 3.0 if you’re using WPF).

    Re: Licensing Problem

    Hi,

     thanks, it works.

I have copy the C1Licensing.exe in my directory (it was missing) and for security i have deleted license information with your license remover tool.

So after this i have been able to activate my license in the about box of the component. Evreything worked now even with visual studio 2008 and 2005. Now i hope that microsoft will found a fix for licx file problem.

    So problem is solved.

    Thanks again C1_JohnF
