Hi Dave,
There is no need to install any licenses on machines used as servers and
not used for development.
The components must be licensed on the development
machine, therefore the licensing information will be saved into the
executable (.exe or .dll) when the project is built. After that, the application
can be deployed on any machine, including Web servers.
For ASP.Net
2.x applications, be sure that the App_licenses dll assembly created during
development of the application is deployed to the bin application bin directory
on the Web server.
If this does not resolve the issue then please send
it as a web request on our site or send it to support@componentone.com.
Regards,
Patrick
I've read all of the posts related to this and tried everything. When I
deply my ASP.NET application I get a message "Evaluation copy..." on the
server when trying to view a page that uses WebReports. No matter what I do I
can't get rid of it. I have a legally registered copy of ComponentOne Studio
Enterprise 2.0. I'm using Visual Studio 2005 and I'm deploying to Windows
Server 2003. I have tried deploying using "Publish Website" and also via a Web
Deployment project. The license file in the ASP.NET app seems valid. I tried
removing this reference and dropping an instance of WebReports on a form. I
tried deleting the entire bin folder and rebuilding. I tried making a change
to a form and rebuilding. Nothing seems to work. I do not get this message in
the development environment. I am referencing the WebReports dll directly, not
through the GAC.
What's going on?
Dave
