    Hi

With reference to your query it seems that Doc-To-Help 2007 has not been
installed properly or might be something is missing (any of the required
    patched).
Therefore, I would suggest you to try unintall and reinstall Doc-To-Help
    2007 your machine.

    Step of uninstalling Doc-to-Help.

    1) Deactivate Doc To Help (Help menu -> Deactivate). If you do not see this
option then you may go ahead and uninstall D2H directly.
    2) After you receive the deactivation confirmation, Un-install all versions
of Doc-To-Help from the machine (Click on Start - Programs - ComponentOne -
    ComponentOne Doc-To-Help - Un-install).
    3) Clear the registry with the help of the following steps:
    a) Click on Start.
    b) Click "Run..."
    c) Type regedit and press enter
    d) Navigate to the following keys:
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\COMPONENTONE
    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\COMPONENTONE
    e) And delete the Doc-To-Help folders, if any.
    f) Reboot the machine.

    Steps of Installation:

Please donwload the latest version of Doc-to-Help from the following
    location:
    http://download.componentone.com/pub/HelpAuthoring/doctohelp2005/Evaluations/C1D2H2007Build377Setup.EXE

    1. Before installing please check whether you have any Winword.exe or Client
mail program (like Outlook) opened. If yes, then close them from the Task
    Manager.
    2. Make sure that you have the Administrative Rights for your system,
disable the anti virus software on your system and also set MS-Word macro
    settings to low.
    3. Please note that .Net framework 2.0 is required of the Doc-to-Help 2007.

Also please download the following patches before reinstalling

    installed)

    Dear John,

Thanks for your message and response.

I have not carefully followed your instructions and made a completely new installation.

However, exactly the same problems appear after re installation.

I am sorry that to say that this is creating confusion.

Something is not correctly checked in the installation

Looking forward to have more news on this

Per-Erik, are you on build 377?

Our team are on Enterprise 2007 and have recently moved to 377 and all of a sudden projects that have worked fine in all previous versions (right back to Wextech Doc-to-Help 4!) have started to fail.

One of our authors now has constant D2H crashes. I had a few crashes but now I get "Value out of Range - Aborted". This seems to be completely erratic and occurs for no obvious reason. I've deleted sections of the offending document until it built OK then started putting the content back in. It all seemed fine again, then suddenly it's started aborting again at a place in the document that it previously was perfectly happy with! I haven't made any changes to this area of the project for some time.

Does anyone else have serious problems with build 377? It seems to be very sensitive to something, but quite what I haven't yet managed to work out although I suspect conditional text might be involved.

All our documents are Word 2003.

We're having the same problem.  We are using DTH 2007.3.0.377 and Word 2007.  We are getting the Value Out of Range message when we are building our WinHelp file.  We had to go back to the previous version of DTH to create our help.

I worked out what was causing the problem in the end. D2H was crashing whenever it encountered places where I had two items of text immediately adjacent to each other (no space in between), each item having a different platform condition applied and one of them also having a link from the text.

I solved the problem by copying the entire paragraph in each case and applying the platform conditions to whole paragraphs rather than single words.

I don't know if that'll help you or not but it's definitely specific to build 377.

Re: Error and crashing of DocToHelp 2007 - anyone else?

I have just upgraded to  DTH 2007.3.0.377 while using Word 2003. All my projects result in an error 2000800e. I decided to downgrade to build 348 and everything is working just fine now. there might be a bug in build 377.
