Is it possible, or are there any upcoming plans to include the ability to incorporate movie files (specifically wmv or avi, although I guess this could also extend to swf (flash) files too) into a demoworks project?

Importing video files is not a current feature.

I agree. We have many WMV files we'd like to move over.
