Followup from Central dir not Found ISSUE=417 PROJ=72

    Hi,

(I tried emailing support.c1zip.net@componentone.com with the following message, but received the following error:

    (Subject: 'FootPrints Append Error(2)':

    Body:

The incoming email file you sent to FootPrints

attempted to append to entry 417

The append failed. Perhaps this entry does not

exist, or you are not allowed to append to it.)

So here is the message, again:

    Hi Allen,

Thank you for your response re my issue.

I have (so far) done the following:

I downloaded the current 1.x version of ComponentOne (version 1.1.20071.39, - one build earlier than the version that you sent me a link to) that is available on your site.

I have tested zipping of single files and folders with files in them.

The 2 GB limit seems to have been surpassed, but now we hit the 4 GB Limit (please see attached error message BMP file).

Is there a version of the C1Zip.dll that does not have an output size ceiling/limit. If so, how can we get one? If not, are there any plans to support a "no-output-size-ceiling" version of C1Zip?

Thanks a lot for your help.

    Regards

    Melroy

Thereafter, we tried putting in a 7 GB file.  This failed silently: it seems that after reaching the 4GB limit, the component starts writing from 0 again.  Thus, our file turned out to be 3+ GB, in the zip instead of the 7 GB it really was.

    Cheers

    Melroy

The problem you describe is a limitation of the zip file format, not
    intrinsic to C1Zip.

The file size is stored as a 'uint', and the maximum value supported for
    that type is 4294967295.
