    Introduction

My name is Paul Neshamkin, and I am a Doc-To-Help MVP and Certified Trainer. I am also a Microsoft Help MVP, there are about 12 of us World-wide.

If you have any general questions about Help, any type, post them here, and I would be glad to help.

Save the product-specific questions for the Doc-To-Help Forum, but use this one to talk about Help functionality, context-sensitive Help APIs, Help trends, etc.

    Hope to hear from you.

    Regards,

    Paul Neshamkin

    Re: Introduction

Hi Paul.  I'm Herb and I manage a software development staff here in a county government office.  We've been writing some new systems in vb.net and would like to provide robust help within the software.  I'm reviewing many different HATs to determine which product to purchase.  I would appreciate any tips you have that would help in the decision making process.  Also,  I imagine there are structured methods for creating help systems.   So far, I've played around with creating topics as needed, but there still is no comprehensive game plan.  Any and all suggestions are welcome. Thanks.

Is there anyone on this planet who is creating online help for Macintosh AND Windows and if you are, are you also producing OLH for Windows and do you have unresolvable issues with Browser functionality with help button calls or searching?

MY GOD is this an impossible question to get an answer to?  If you're creating Macintosh OLH what software are you using that has topics called from the mac programming?  WE HAVE BIG PROBLEMS and before we buy D2H I need to know if these issues can be resolved, otherwise we'll stay with Robohelp.
